Theodore Wayne "Ted" Beach, Sr.
July 07, 1938 - February 21, 2018
Theodore Wayne “Ted” Beach, Sr., 79, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at PruittHealth. He was born in Cleveland, OH, son of Earl E. and Vivian Stout Beach. Mr. Beach graduated from Athens High School, Athens, GA in 1956 and then attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC receiving both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music. He later studied at Michigan State where he received his ED.S. He spent several years in Washington, DC with the Music Educators National Conference and then returned to Savannah where he served as band director in several elementary and middle schools. Mr. Beach was a member of First Baptist Church of Savannah where he sang in the choir.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Linda Leary Beach of Savannah; son Theodore W. Beach, Jr. and his wife Debra of Greensboro, NC; sister Marcia Albrecht and her husband David of Vero Beach, Fl and two nieces Whitney and Bretton.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Interment will follow in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
